Christian Song Lyrics of Mark Joseph Young:  Although the music is not available, the words of these selected songs may be encouraging in various ways.  Something New:  I'm currently working on a way to create Midi file versions of these songs, so you might be able to hear them.  no promises on whether, when, or as to the quality of the performance (I always find that the first thing you create with a new toy is rather embarrassing later), but it might happen soon.  Let me know which songs you'd most like to hear presented, either by writing to me, or by taking the survey at the bottom of the page.

Several of these sites have garnered interest from readers.  I would very much like to hear your opinions, as well as what brought you to these.

This is a sub-index page of the Index to the Writings of Mark Joseph Young, which cover many areas of thought and life, including, law, bible, rpg's, time travel, fiction, and many other subjects.

It's not what you think

Gethsemene:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  This song from a rock opera about the passion of Christ portrays a prayer which might have been prayed by Judas Iscariot in the hours after he betrayed Jesus.

Holocaust, a Poem by M. Joseph Young:  This is the poem recited at the end of the Holocaust song.  It was included in the poetry pages of Absolute Angel, whose own poems are worth a look, as are those of other friends and poets she has referenced in her page.

Holocaust:  Song Lyrics by M. Young, J. Young, & R. Weston:  This is the complete song from which the Holocaust poem is drawn.

I Use to Think:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  A song about how modern thought undermines everything which people consider to be self-evident.

John's Song:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  At the foot of the cross, the Apostle John was impressed by three of the seven things Jesus said.  This song, from a rock opera of the passion of Christ, puts those words together with feelings.

John Three:  Song Lyrics by S. Fredette, D. Oldham, and M. Young:  From the rock opera of the passion of Jesus, this song captures the mood of Joseph of Arimethea and Nicodemus at the moment they interred the body of Christ.

A Man Like Paul:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  Written on the death of Pope Paul VI, this song challenges Christians to be like the apostles.

Number One:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  Caiaphas, the High Priest and de facto ruler in Jerusalem, was eager to be rid of Jesus.  This song, part of the rock opera about the passion of Christ, captures his mood at the moment he could see things coming together.

Our God is Good:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  During the long-forgotten presidential primary which inspired this song, I was impressed with how the press and the public expected moral and ethical standards of politicians beyond that to which they themselves adhered.  I have seen that again and again, and feel the message of this song:  be what you expect.

The Secret:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  It has been said that there are two ways to get to heaven, the hard way and the right way.  This song has surprised people with the twist it takes.

Sometimes:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  This song is the cry of a Christian heart which sees its own darkness in the light of Christ.

The Songs of Cardiac Output and Mark J. Young:  An index to the Christian song lyrics on the web in my personal web site.

Step by Step:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  From the rock opera of the passion of Christ, this song imagines the thoughts and feelings of a soldier at the crucifixion.

That's When I'll Believe:  Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  It has been said that most objections which are raised against faith are excuses to avoid belief rather than true intellectual obstacles to faith.  This song looks at some of those excuses.

These Three Things:  The Apostle Peter denied Jesus thrice in one night.  This song, from an opera of the passion of Christ, imagines a conversation between him and his wife about that event.

Where will you end up next?...

Why:  Worship Song Lyrics by Mark J. Young:  A worship song with simple lyrics and profound depth.

And don't forget the survey!
