RPG Martial Arts Writings of Mark Joseph Young:  Material created for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons oriental rules and for Multiverser combat warranted its own web site.  There were a few other stray pages on the subject on other sites, so all of that is listed here.

Several of these sites have garnered interest from readers.  I would very much like to hear your opinions, as well as what brought you to these.

This is a sub-index page of the Index to the Writings of Mark Joseph Young, which cover many areas of thought and life, including, law, bible, rpg's, time travel, fiction, and many other subjects.

All martial arts styles are included in this game. Try it

AD&D Special Weapons Maneuvers Without Martial Arts:  Especially for fighters not in the oriental game, but also of value to oriental characters, this creates a framework for using martial arts techniques in other contexts.

Creating a Martial Arts Style in RPG's:  This page gives the essential introduction to these rules, backgrounding the martial arts concept within the game worlds, and briefly describing the contents of the site.

Kensai Dedication and Associated Rules in AD&D:  The first character I played (as a player--I'd run hundreds as a DM) was a kensai; that sparked other gamers to try it (since their DM thought it a good class to play).  These rules describe how kensai dedications apply both to the bonuses they receive and the restrictions they must follow, especially when their dedication involves the use of a martial arts style or weapon.

Learning Martial Arts in RPG's:  How a character adds martial arts to his abilities is considered, along with the rules for the sequence in which the skills may be added in the two systems.

Martial Arts Rules Introductory Page:  This page gives the essential introduction to these rules, backgrounding the martial arts concept within the game worlds, and briefly describing the contents of the site.

Martial Arts Exercises in RPG's:  The referee wishing to add color to the game will find a variety of training program techniques here adapted from many sources and designed to give the game an "instruction of an oriental master" flavor in any milieu.

Martial Arts Rules for Role Playing Games:  The index page for the martial arts site gives some background on the material and links the main pages in the site, as well as giving an e-mail link for comments.

Martial Arts Rules Introductory Page:  This page gives the essential introduction to these rules, backgrounding the martial arts concept within the game worlds, and briefly describing the contents of the site.

The Martial Arts Style Collection:  An index to the many styles which have been created and uploaded to the web for DM's and referees of other games to try, it links to several resources, including charts which divide styles by types and techniques, and descriptions of the styles individually.

Martial Arts Styles in AD&D:  The chart here divides martial arts styles available in AD&D by form and method.

Martial Arts Styles in Multiverser:  The chart here divides martial arts styles available in Multiverser by attack form and type of style.

Martial Arts Titles in RPG's:  Most gamers know little enough about the "belts" used in real martial arts schools, and these vary from style to style.  This alternative system was devised for use with the styles indicated, so that non-player characters would have a way of identifying their level of skill within the style.  Rules for determining the title of the character are given for both Multiverser and AD&D.

Martial Arts Weapon Damage in AD&D:  Advanced Dungeons & Dragons uses a complicated system to combine weapon and style damage into a total damage die roll.  To simplify it, each of the approved martial arts weapons is listed with the die or dice which should be rolled for damage in any martial arts style, identified by the style damage modifier.

Martial Arts Weapons As Used in Multiverser:  The weapons commonly used in martial arts are described (useful for any game) and defined in recommended Multiverser combat terms.

Martial arts rules are referenced extensively in the Character Creation for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons First Edition web site, indexed separately, but that material is much more incidental to the specific use of martial arts by particular classes within that game.  Since it is essentially minor references within pages on other subjects, these pages are not indexed here.
